Rollinia deliciosa

rollinia

Origin story - In 2019 we sourced strains from Sabah, Malaysia; the Peruvian provinces of San Martin and Loreto; as well as Bolivian origins. In 2024, friends of the Annona Breeding Project shared seeds from Ecuador.

Flavor profile - A balanced zesty and sweet lemon flavor with a texture that is like meringue pie filling.

Field notes - Ripe fruit has little to no shelf life once picked from the tree. The main threats to these trees in South Florida are (1) poor water quality, (2) drought, (3) spider mites and leafhoppers, and (4) temperatures lower than 40 degrees F.

Cultivar status - Seedlings are available at nurseries in South Florida, but grafted trees remain scarce.
