Origin story - 'Dream Annona' is not a hybrid but rather a true cherimoya. Grown by its creator, Wayne Clifton, former president of the Manatee Rare Fruit Council in Florida, who referred to it as "Dream Cherimoya". It's often believed to be an atemoya because of its similar characteristics and growth habit, but the seed was acquired from a cherimoya farm in Peru. It grows well in Florida, a location where most cherimoyas do not thrive.
